George Heiter received his “Vordiplom” and “Dipl. Ing.” degrees from the Universities of Darmstadt and Karlsruhe/Germany, and the Ph.D. from Stanford University in 1957, 1959 and 1964, respectively. He joined (then) Bell Telephone Laboratories in 1963, working on Ferrites, memories and communication systems, joined Analog Devices, Inc., in 1996, developing multifunction chips, retiring in December of 2001 to form Heiter Microwave Consulting. He is active mainly in MTT-S as committee chair, conference organizer and reviewer. He is an IEEE Life Fellow, with memberships in the MTT and ED Societies, the European Microwave Association, the American Physical Society and Sigma Xi.
